Watch this quick video to learn more about Zenlist's search tools to create and save your first search!
What is the benefit of saving a search?
By creating and saving a search, you and your clients can see every listing that meets the set of criteria chosen and receive automatic updates to that search when new listings come on the market, have status updates, price changes, and open houses.
Do my clients and I have to save a search to use Zenlist?
No, a saved search is not required to use and benefit from Zenlist! You can access all of the information you seek without a saved search.
However, Zenlist was designed with saved searches as one of the primary collaboration tools between you, your clients(s), and co-agents, so a saved search is highly recommended!
How many searches can I have saved at any given time?
There is no limit to the number of searches you can create and save for yourself and your clients.
What information should I include in my search?
There are a few fields that are required to save a search. These required fields include:
Property type(s)
Location(s)
Status(s)
In addition to the required fields, we also encourage you to include:
Bedroom(s)
Bathroom(s)
Price Range(s)
What kinds of locations can I add to my search?
Zenlist offers a lot of pre-populated locations that can be added to your search.
These locations include:
Cities / Towns
Neighborhoods,
Zip codes
Counties
School districts
School zones
And Community/MLS areas
If we do not have your location pre-populated, you have custom-drawing tools to help you search any area you need! To learn more about custom boundaries, click here.
There are so many filter options! How can I find a specific filter I am looking for?
When you need to find a specific filter, utilize the “Search for Filter” field! Save time by entering a keyword or name for the filter you are looking for and choosing from the options that populate.
Can I preview the listings that match my search before I save it?
Yes, preview your search results by toggling to view your search results in the “List” or “Tile” view located in the top right corner of your map.
How do I save my search?
Once you have all of the search criteria set, click to “Save Search” located above your map if you are using a computer and towards the bottom of the map, if you are using a mobile device.
Follow the remaining prompts to assign the search to yourself or a client, name your search and view your results in your listing feed right away!
What is the difference between saving a search for myself and saving a search for my clients?
The main difference between saving a search for yourself and saving a search directly to your client is who will have access to that search and who will be notified about new listings that match the search.
A search saved for yourself will show the results in your personal agent feed and will only be accessible to you.
A search saved for your clients will show in the client's listing feed and will be accessible by you as well as any clients or Co-Agents you have invited.
What does it mean to “include current listings?”
Choosing to “Include Current Listings” will add all the listings in your search results to your feed, regardless of how long the property has been listed. If you choose not to include these results, your search will only send you results that match your criteria from that moment forward.
You may want to choose to exclude current results if you have been actively searching and have seen everything that is currently on the market! This will save you time, so you don't need to filter through listings you have already reviewed.
Once I save my search, how often does the search run?
Saved searches will update or run automatically in real-time with the MLS.
Saved searches also do not have time limits, so they will continue to update or run until they are deleted by you, your agent, or Co-Buyer(s).
How will I be notified about new listings that match my search?
Zenlist sends notifications by email and to push notifications. Clients set their own notifications when they create their account, but you can check your preferences by opening your Account Page and then App Defaults.
These notification preferences include options for:
Frequency: Instant, Daily or Weekly
Method: Email and/or push notifications
Type: New listings, price change, status change, and closed/expired listings
To learn more about notifications, click here.
Who has access to my saved searches?
Feed members will have access to the searches saved in their group. This includes yourself, your client(s), and any Co-Agents you have invited.
Can I edit my search after it is saved?
Absolutely! By using the three dot menu (...) to the right of the feed where the search is saved, you can choose Edit Search and make any modifications you wish.
Once complete, you can "Save Edits" in the top right-hand side of your computer screen.
To learn more about editing or deleting saved searches, click here.
Are my clients able to edit a search that I save for them?
Yes, your clients can edit their saved searches.
I work with more than one MLS, how do I switch the area I am searching in?
From your search tab, switch the market or MLS you are searching by locating the dropdown arrow menu on the top left-hand side of your filter options and choose a new market or MLS.
Do my clients have access to all of my MLS(s)?
Yes, your clients will be able to search all of the same MLS(s) that you can.
Can I search anywhere in the country?
While Zenlist does not offer a nationwide search (yet), you and your clients can search all of the areas or MLS memberships you hold, as long as they are in an area Zenlist services.
Can my clients search anywhere in the country?
Your clients will be able to search all of the areas covered by your MLS Membership.
Chicagoland only - How do I search for private listings?
To search for private listings in Chicagoland (MRED MLS), utilize the “Listing Sources” filter to select MLS + Private listings to appear in your results.
There are limited details available on private listings and Zenlist will include as many listings in your search results as possible. While searching, keep in mind that any of the filters Taxes & Below will not apply to these private listings. This means that the regular, MLS listings will be a match to all of your criteria, but the private listings may or may not be a perfect match.
